Candidate Portal How-tos
Reset Login for Candidate
- From the candidate details page in ModernLoop, select the ellipsis (...) below Candidate portal
- Select Reset login for candidate
- Select Reset login email
Enable Candidate Portal (Manual)
- From the candidate details page in ModernLoop, select the ellipsis (...) below Candidate portal
- Select Enable candidate portal
- The link to the candidate's portal can then be shared with the candidate
Disable Candidate Portal
- From the candidate details page in ModernLoop, select the ellipsis (...) below Candidate portal
- Select Disable candidate portal
Add a Note for the Candidate
- To add a note to a candidate's portal, navigate to the candidate details page in ModernLoop and select Add a note
- Add your note in the modal. The text field box supports bold, italic, and underlined text, as well as links.
- (Optional): Check the box Notify candidate about this note if your would like the candidate to receive a email as well.
If you choose to notify the candidate, they will receive an email like the example below: - Select Add note
Candidate Portal FAQs
Q: When will the candidate portal be active for an application?
A: Portals for each application is off by default and will turn on and be accessible for the candidate if one of the following is true:

The portal is turned on manually by a ModernLoop Admin in ModernLoop

The portal is automatically turned on if there is a self-schedule request or availability request created on the application

The portal is automatically turned on if there is a scheduled interview (not internal hold) on the application
Q: When will the candidate portal be deactivated for an application?
A: The Candidate Portal will become deactivated for an application if any of the following is true:
- A ModernLoop user manually deactivates the portal on the candidate detail page
- If the candidate's application is rejected in the ATS
- 30 days after the candidate application hired date
Video Troubleshooting Tips
If you encounter an error message while previewing your video, it might be because of the video's privacy settings. Below, you'll find example error messages you might encounter, along with a link to the video host's help center article. If you're facing an issue that doesn't seem related to privacy settings or you have confirmed privacy settings are correct and are still experiencing an issue, please contact ModernLoop support for further troubleshooting assistance.
- Vimeo: If you're unable to see an embedded video on ModernLoop, it could be due to the video's privacy settings. Vimeo offers several privacy settings specific to embedded videos. Embedded videos can be displayed:
- Anywhere: Allows anyone to embed your video on any webpage.
- Nowhere: Prevents embedding anywhere outside of vimeo.com.
- Specific domains: Lets you specify up to 50 domains where your video can be embedded.
How to change your videos privacy settings
- Loom: If your video privacy setting is set to Members of this Workspace or Only people added can access, the video preview will be hidden by default in embedded Looms.
How to use Looms privacy settings - YouTube: When you upload a video to YouTube you have three privacy settings: public, unlisted and private. Unlisted videos can only be seen by those with a link. Private videos can only be seen by the owner.
