Introduction
ModernLoop allows you to set default scheduling settings for your organization. These settings include Interview Load Balancing, Work Hours, Company Days Off and Conflicts. Interview Load Balancing and Work Hours can also be modified on the individual interviewer level from the Directory tab. Updating settings at the interviewer level will override the company defaults set in Organization Settings> Scheduling for the particular interviewer.

Candidate Schedules: Event Splits
Event splits allow you to decide how events will appear on your candidate's calendar.

One event per day: In case of multiple events, they will be consolidated into a single calendar event spanning from the start of the first event to the conclusion of the last event. Multi-day events will be divided across the respective days.

One event per block: Back-to-back events will be represented as a single calendar entry. However, if there's a gap between events, each will be shown as separate entries.

One event per interview: Each interview will be allocated its own calendar event.
Suggestions to candidates
You can adjust self-schedule start times and availability request times to display in either 15-minute or 30-minute intervals. This provides flexibility in scheduling by allowing more precise or broader time slots.
Customize self-schedule start times to display in 15 minute or 30 minute increments.
You have the option to adjust the start times for self-scheduling activities so that they are shown either in 15-minute intervals or 30-minute intervals.
For example:
- In a 15-minute increment setting, you would see available start times such as 8:00 AM, 8:15 AM, 8:30 AM, 8:45 AM, etc.
- In a 30-minute increment setting, you would see available start times such as 8:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, etc.
Customize availability request times to display in 15 or 30 minute increments.
You can configure the times shown for availability requests so that they are presented in either 15-minute or 30-minute intervals.
For example:
- In a 15-minute increment setting, you would see available request times such as 8:00 AM, 8:15 AM, 8:30 AM, 8:45 AM, etc.
- In a 30-minute increment setting, you would see available request times such as 8:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, etc.

Schedule location
Set a default schedule location for all new interviews. A location other than the default schedule location can be set from the jobs tab.
When selecting a default location you can choose from:
- Zoom (if integrated)
- Select a host- Can be interviewers, scheduler, or a specific account
- Google Meet or Microsoft Teams (dependent on your directory integration)
- Select a host- Can be interviewers, scheduler, or a specific account
- Custom link
- Add a URL of your choosing
- Candidate phone number
- Interviewer(s) will call the candidate phone number on file in ModernLoop
- Custom phone number
- Set a custom number for the candidate to call
- Custom text
- Share an address or specific details about the location
- None
Keywords
This option allows you to modify schedule settings by adding keywords you want ModernLoop to account for when scheduling interviews.

Out of Office: phrases for these events will be avoided only if the interviewer is the event organizer. Interviewers who have been added to an event containing any of the phrases in this section will be surfaced as available so long as no other conflicts exist.
- This functionality will allow your team to invite other members to their out of office events without impacting their availability for interviews.

Avoid: ModernLoop will downrank scheduling options that contain these keywords. You may still schedule over meetings with these key words but you will be presented with a warning message when in the calendar view of scheduling

Available: ModernLoop will treat meetings with these key words as meetings that are acceptable to schedule over. A message will appear while scheduling that this is being scheduled over an Available time.

Recruiting Blocks: ModernLoop will search for the keywords/ phrase inputted in the Recruiting Blocks section in your interviewer's calendar and prioritize those times for interview scheduling.

When an interviewer has a Recruiting Block phrase listed on their calendar, ModernLoop will treat the time as preferential and provide options within the Recruiting Block first.
